I was born in the Benecko area in the Krkonoše mountains and I am probably one of the few that can show off with a native house nowadays.

When I was two years old, my father put me on ski for the first time. Since then I could accompany my brother on the slope. Petr was born in a near-by town Jilemnice and I was following him about for many years.

I had two homes. We spent every holiday and winter months in the Benecko area. There I attended a village school in Vítkovice and I was skiing almost every day with my father and Peter in Krkonoše resorts. The rest of the year took place at home in the center of Prague and at school at Lesser Town Square.

I cannot remember my first ski-race but my oldest diplomas had the year 1991 written on them. From 1996 to 2000 I passed many child races in Austria as a member of Leogang Ski Club.
My first big victory came in February 2000 – it was a victory in slalom at an unofficial child world championship Trofeo Topolino in Italy.

In autumn 2000, the real racing began. I took part mostly in FIS races during the first two years. I passed my first race with juniors and adults in Swedish Gaellivare. The first race in World Cup was KO slalom in Sestriere (Italy) in December 2002. I landed on the 5th place and I have started to believe that one day I can belong among best alpine skier.

Alpine skiing is a beautiful sport. Its beautiful with the environment, its diversity. Every resort is different, some two slopes are not the same. You can gain unbelievable energy from nature around you. In mountains you can find space, calm… You do not have to be a professional skier to enjoy everything…
